We had such a fun Christmas! It was so neat to have Sadie understand what was going on, but still be young enough to not care what was in all the packages. :)

It's apparent you're a parent...

I am definitely a mom…. Want to know how I know??

When I come home from work and change my clothes I no longer opt for the pair of jeans that my butt looks cutest in…it's pajama pants all the way! The more baggy and worn out the better.

My showers have been reduced from 15 min to 5 minutes.

I not only pack around a purse, but a huge diaper bag bursting at the seams.

I speak baby. When I have a conversation with adults I find myself saying things like “that’s silly” or “that’s naughty” or rhyming my words.

I don’t even flinch at poop and puke…no matter the color, smell, or consistency.

My favorite’s bookmarks on my computer once consisted of Forever 21, Victoria Secret, American Eagle... but now has links to The Children’s Place, Babies R Us etc.

When I walk into any store, I walk straight past the women’s clothing to the baby clothing.

I have two new wrinkles around my eyes that I attribute to a lack of sleep in the last year.

Even when I don’t have a baby in my arms I seem to sway back and forth...

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving day started out a little rocky... I got a call from my boss saying our clinic was broken into on Wednesday night and it was a mess. I had to go down and do inventory and write up the police statement of everything we were missing. Nothing too big was taken--just money from the cash drawers and all the drug samples they could get their hands on. We were very thankful they didn't take any computers, equipment or patient information. What a way to start off the day of thanks! Oh well, right?

Thanksgiving was fantastic, of course. We had tons of great food and all my family together--it doesn't get any better!

My parents got a new sectional couch for their family room so we spent the hour after dinner arranging and re-arranging furniture--oh man were the boys sick of us! (I only wish I'd gotten pictures.) It looks great though!

I love having all my nieces and nephews around! They have so much fun together and they love playing with Sadie. Derek is especially good with the younger kids and even got Sadie all bundled up to go play outside. (Plus he gave her a cookie so who wouldn't like him) SO cute!


We spent Thursday night on the floor in the living room with several ads surrounding us planning our attack for Black Friday! We made lists of everything we wanted from each store, and then split into 2 groups to make the most of our time and make sure we hit every store we wanted!



We SCORED. I am so happy with all the great deals we got! And the best part? I was home and in bed for a nap by 10:15 am.

Every year during Thanksgiving weekend we kick off the Christmas season by making our Gingerbread houses. The kids have a ton of fun making their very own house. Bring on the creativity!


Spencer always goes all out (no surprise there) and takes both our houses and makes something super grandiose with the 2 kits combined. This year it was called "The Leaning Castle of Christmas." Lia and Nora helped him decorate and had a spectacular time with him.

What a great month! Sadie's birthday, Thanksgiving time, the start of the holidays... and... DAVE CAME HOME!

It was SO great to see him! I've missed him a ton. I think my whole family is grateful he's home just so they can stop hearing me say, "I miss Dave."

He looks so different and yet, so the same. He's trying to adjust to "normal" life, trying to speak English again, and trying to figure out if his clothes are still in style :)

Spencer and I have spent the last couple days talking all about the few days before I delivered and the first few hours of Sadie's life. We even went out to lunch at the same place we were eating one year ago when I went into labor. :)

I can't believe a whole year has passed with our tiny kid, and yet it seriously FLEW by! We can't even imagine our lives without this amazing little girl.
