The Reason I Blog

"You will have significant experiences. I hope you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." -- Gordon B. Hinckley

Sadie turns FOUR!

Sadie had such a fun birthday this year.  She kept changing her mind about what she wanted to do for her party but she finally settled on Kangaroo Zoo with some of her cousins and boy did they have a blast!

After they were all sweaty and dead tired, we headed back home for presents and cake.  The kids were all VERY helpful opening her presents.  They were all SO excited!

And the PinyPons were a total success.  She played with them long after she should have been in bed.  :)

Happiest fourth birthday ever Sadie!  We adore you.

Anniversary Trip

Man, I'm behind on blogging!  For our 7th anniversary, we took a nice little break from everything and headed to Vegas with some friends.  It was a perfect little getaway!  Our only plans were a Cirque Du Soleil show, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and a Spa Day and it was perfect!  We lounged around a lot, ate a bunch of really tasty food and really enjoyed not worrying about anything else!

Our hotel was super modern and clean. Everything was black and white.  We loved it!

We also enjoyed a little flash flood while we were there.  We had plans to walk the strip and at least see the fountain and fire shows, but the weather never made that possible.  We didn't even mind.  We loved just lounging around a little more.

The Cirque Du Soleil show was seriously AWESOME.  We've seen KA in the past, and I loved this one so much more!  I enjoyed every second and can't wait to see another one!

Spence had a great time at the wax museum, if you can't tell...  :)

Happy Anniversary Love!
We've been through a lot in the last 7 years and I can't wait for the next seventy!  :)

New Blog

Never mind.

After playing around with Blogger for a while, we found a way around the photo problem, so we're gonna keep this blog going.

So don't do what I just told you to do...  Sorry about that.  I'm awesome huh.

Halloween

We always do so much around Halloween, it's almost overwhelming.  Good thing we love it!

This year at our party, Spencer created a "Prop Quiz" with clues from all sorts of Halloween movies.  It was pretty impressive!  Everything was labeled with an orange tag and it was a hit!  Here are a few of my favorites:

 Arachnophobia

Edward Scissorhands, The Shining, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Misery

 Halloween, Jaws and The Mummy

We played games, ate some tasty food and of course, had the costume contest.  They did not disappoint this year!

 Frankenstein and his Bride

 Fairy and the Mobster

 Nacho and Sister Encarnacion

The Bumblebee and The Tooth Fairy

 Shrek Ogres

and the Thugs

Our Gillespie family Halloween party was just a couple days later!  We have a fun Halloween themed dinner and then a costume parade for all the kids (and Spence and Kris...)

We carved pumpkins a few days before Halloween and Sadie loved every minute.  (Afton fell asleep, so I guess she had a good time too...)

The Jack-O-Lanterns finished the decor outside and we were ready for trick or treating!  We convinced Taylor to wear her real Cheerleader outfit and come with us and Sadie thought it was pretty much awesome.

We came home with full buckets of candy so I think it was a success.  Happy Halloween!

Dance

We signed Sadie up for a ballet class once a week with her cousin Kate and she's loving it!

Their first class only had the two of them so they really got a lot of attention.  Slowly more and more girls signed up and now there's about 6... and they added another teacher.   :)

They have tons of fun and it is SO cute to watch.

Fall Fun

We've already had lots of Halloween fun!  We took advantage of Cornbelly's "Hometown Heroes" weekend at Thanksgiving Point and loved it!  They did free admission for all families of police officers, military and firefighters.

We played in bouncy houses, went down the potato sack slide, did some go-kart driving, took turns driving the fire truck, raced rubber duckies and ended with a tractor ride through the corn fields.  Oh, and don't forget the deep fried twinkie! (We were very skeptical, but it was SERIOUSLY good).

A few days later we went with the McCune's to the Vineyard Pumpkin Land and it never disappoints!

They have a perfect kid size corn maze, lots of animals to see in the farm, bouncy houses and slides, a little playground, and a kid friendly spook alley with a pumpkin patch at the end.  Perfect way to spend a cloudy fall afternoon.
