My blurry vision had been bugging me for quite a while now, but it wasn't ever bad enough to make me wear my glasses regularly unless I was driving. We talked about it and decided to at least go to a Lasik consult and see if I'd be a good candidate for it and see how much it would cost.
The cost was higher than we expected because of my astigmatism, but after talking it over we decided it was worth it. Plus it came with a lifetime guarantee, so if my vision changes and I need it again in the future, it's free!
Everyone was telling me how much I would love it and that the procedure and recovery was "not that bad." Well, apparently they all forgot how bad that first day was or mine was way worse! It was seriously awful! You know how it feels when you poke yourself in the eye really hard and you can't open it for like an hour? Watering/stinging/hurting/not being able to see? Multiply that by about 12 and that's how the whole first day was.
Swollen eyelids and watery, goopy eyes.
This was the first time I could stand keeping my eyes open long enough for a picture and it was as far as I could open my eyes. I HATED that I wasn't allowed to touch my eyes for the first 2 days because the crusties were driving me crazy!!
Don't mind my bug eyes. I was really trying to show off my impressive bruises:)
Thankfully, every day has gotten better and better. Now I just have some burning/stinging every once in a while and I'll probably have these eye bruises for a couple more weeks.
p.s. It was totally worth it
