The Reason I Blog

"You will have significant experiences. I hope you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences." -- Gordon B. Hinckley

Christmas Card

We are so excited for Christmas this year!  I have a hard time waiting to give gifts once I buy them, so Christmas about kills me!  Can't wait to see everyone's face when they get their gifts  :)

If you didn't get a card in the mail this year it's because I don't have your address.  So shame on you, send it to me for next year and enjoy it here this year  :)

Merry Christmas from the Gillespie Family!

Christmas Traditions

We went to see the lights at Riverwoods last week and stopped to see Santa.  The girls were enamored with all the lights and best of all -- parking was awesome, it was only 2 minutes away from our house and we had a great time!

The girls were in heaven seeing Santa.  Even Afton sat right up on his lap and grinned.

Sadie will tell anyone within ears distance that she wants the "Barbie Princess Charm School Movie" and it was no different with Santa.  She jumped right up and told him.  All business, this girl.

And of course, as is our favorite tradition, we stopped at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and each picked a delicious treat.

Deja Vu . . . kinda

I've been looking through pictures of the girls recently and it's crazy how much they look alike and yet how different they really are.  Afton seems to look less and less like Sadie the older she gets.   (Some of the pictures are from my old phone, so they're bad quality, but you get the idea)

New Family Pics!

Here are the wonderful family pictures I said were coming!  We got them done the last week of October with Jeff of Mortensen Media and they turned out SO SO AWESOME.  We needed some pictures of our kids for Sadie's 3 year and Afton's 9 month marks and they are perfect!  We had a hard time choosing our favorites...  Enjoy!

Man my girls have pretty eyes.  :)

Thanks SO much Jeff!

Fwee years ode!

We just can't believe Sadie is already 3!   I took work off on her birthday and we celebrated all day long.  We like to make a big deal out of birthdays around our house.

Opening a couple presents first thing in the morning

Before her birthday party that afternoon, she got to go with daddy to the party store and pick out balloons.  It's one of her favorite things about her birthday.  Then we ate lunch together at Pizza Pie Cafe--her new favorite place.

Some of her balloons adorning the party table

For Sadie's party this year, she got to invite lots of princess friends and then play lots of princess themed games complete with crowns and princess dresses.  They all got to decorate a crown cookie, play "pin the crown" and get toenails painted with pretty princess colors!  Then they all got cotton candy, princess wands and of course, candy!  We had such a fun time!

She got all sorts of princess characters, coloring books, clothes, new books, a tea set, a princess dress and movies!

Afton even got in on the fun and LOVED the balloons.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SADIE!!

You are our world.  Even though we are the parents, you teach us so much every day.  We are so thankful for you and LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!
